Heart Waltz - A Poem

He waltzes in and out of my life,
free as an eagle in the sky.
He does not want a wife,
A decision that makes me cry.

Everythime he waltzes in,
My guard is put on high,
then my guard goes down,
my love is his I can't deny.

I am happy, I am hopeful,
perhaps this time we'll be
together, forever, for always,
A dream of mine you see.

And then he waltzes out,
I feel hurt, angry, betrayed.
My heart once again broken,
I vow never again to let it stray.

Then I sit alone and cry,
Asking God the reasons why,
Try to fix my broken heart,
Just in time for him to waltz back in,
and try to steal my heart again, not realizing
it always belonged to him.
